Workshops take place at Bank Street Studios, Sheffield City centre. Full address and entry details will be sent after booking.
The cheapest local all day parking is available behind the Family Courthouse on Bridge Street.
Secure place for your bike is available also.
NCP carpark, a short walk from the studio and on-street parking meters nearby are also available.

The studio is accessed via stairs so unfortunately may not be suited for those with limited mobility. Please get in touch before booking if you have any accessibility questions.

Each session includes:
1kg of clay
Firing of 2 finished pieces
Use of studio tools and equipment
Guidance throughout session either as light support for Open Studio Sessions, or in-depth teaching in classes.
Light refreshments (tea, coffee. water and some biscuits ;)

Additional work can be made and fired for an extra fee to cover clay, glazing and kiln space. Prices will be confirmed in the studio.

No experience is necessary unless you are joining the Open Studio Sessions.
Workshops are suitable for complete beginners and will evolve at your pace to develop your skills and clay knowledge.

Pottery can be messy, so please wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on. Short nails are recommended (but you do you;).
The studio will provide aprons.

Work must dry, be bisque fired, glazes and fired again, which usually takes around 2-4 weeks depending on workflow. You will be contacted when your pieces are ready to collect and mailing is available for an extra fee.

Pottery can occasionally crack or warp during drying or firing. Glazes can also be temperamental and might not always come out quite as planned. While every effort is made to fire work carefully, results cannot be guaranteed and refunds can not be offered for kiln failures.

If you miss a session in a multi-week course it may not always be available to offer a replacement session. However, were possible guidance will be provided so you can catch up in the following class.

The studio and site operates with risk assessments, fire safety procedures and public liability insurance in place.
A short safety introduction will be given at the start of workshops.

Workshops are generally suitable for ages 16+. Younger participants may attend with a parent or guardian depending on the session.

If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations may not be refundable as spaces are limited.
