Large Mugs
Our large hand-built mugs feature soft curved texture and glazes ranging from tawny brown and patchy blue to cream with delicate speckles, satin green and pale blue. The mugs hold around 350-400ml, with a balanced weight that feels comfortable in the hand. Each one is made to the same dimensions and yet also carries its own quiet character.

Hold approx. 380ml, Dimension about 9cm high and 9cm diameter.
Each mug I make is slab built by hand using stoneware clay, with an emphasis on quality and form, but I also love the slight wonkiness in the result. I believe this gives each piece a real feeling of being built by hand and by a person. I carefully add a coil at the base of the mugs to soften the inside join. This seems to help prevent a build-up of tannin and coffee stains. I also feel it adds to the aesthetics.
I have worked hard with the design to create a generous sized vessel, for that decent amount of morning (or daily 😉) caffeine, or a nice cup of steaming hot herb tea. The large fern mugs hold approx. 380ml, while also trying to keep the weight of the mug light and comfortable in your hands.
Each fern pattern is unique to each mug and non are identical in pattern. I love how the green fern seems to glow, frozen in time into the mug. Expect some slight variations in size, shape and decoration as each item is made by hand
Dishwasher safe but handwashing is recommended to preserve craftmanship.
Glazes are free of lead and cadmium.

Pilar candle, burn time approx.: 10 hours

Beeswax candles have a natural scent with their unique and delightful (to me and hopefully to you too), slightly honeyed aroma. Never overpowering but comforting and natural
Unlike paraffin wax candles, beeswax actively cleans the air by releasing negative ions that bind with positive pollutions.
After some time, the candles may develop a slightly cloudy coating, this is normal and simply a reaction the environment and air. If it bothers you, simply warm the candle a bit between your hands and gently wipe with soft cloth.
Each candle is handmade by us at Fireweed Pottery using 100% natural beeswax and cotton wicks.
Warning:
Please burn within sight and do not leave candle unattended. Keep away from children and pets, as well as anything flammable. Make sure candle is on a steady surface.
Trim wick to 5mm (1/4”) before lighting and do not burn continuously for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
