Weekend Workshops

  • A relaxed, guided pottery session designed for beginners and anyone looking to spend a few hours making with clay.

    In this small group workshop, you’ll be introduced to hand building techniques and supported throughout to create your own ceramic pieces in a calm, welcoming studio setting.

    • 2.5 hour guided session

    • Introduction to hand building techniques

    • All materials and tools provided

    • Create 1-2 pieces to be fired

    • Light refreshments

  • Please choose your preferred Saturday session date from the dropdown when you book. Spaces are limited and each date will sell out individually.

    • 10.30am-1.00pm

    • Small groups up to 6 people

    • £45 per person

    After your session your pieces will be dried and fired, ready to collect in a few weeks.

Pottery Taster Experience

3-Hour Pottery Taster Experience

Wed- 8th of April 10.30-13.30

£45 per person

A relaxed and welcoming introduction to working with clay, perfect for beginners or anyone curious to try pottery for the first time or returning to it after a break.

During the class you’ll be guided through some simple hand-building, creating a pinch-pot plant pot and a small slab-built pot (that you can turn into a mug if you like), while exploring simple surface decoration techniques to personalise your pieces. The class will also introduce coil building, one of the oldest forms of pottery.

You’ll choose two pieces to keep which will be carefully dried, fired twice and glazed after the session. Your finished work will be ready to collect in about two weeks, or it can be posted to you for an additional fee.

Spaces are limited (4-6 people) to keep the group small and relaxed.

All materials, tools, firing and light refreshments included

1kg of clay is included. Additional clay and firing will be charged in accordance with kiln space used.

Come join us for a cosy seasonal pottery workshop at Joni’s café in the Botanical Gardens of Sheffield.

Bring a friend or come and make one, over a cup of mulled wine and Christmas creative fun.

We will be making a selection of hanging ornaments that you can stamp and decorate. These will than be fired twice and clear glazed and ready to collect or have delivered within around two weeks.

Cost £35 (+£5 payee at the workshop if you would like your finished ornaments sent to you in the post)
