Each little mug is built and decorated by hand using stoneware clay, shaped with attention to form and everyday use. I keep the natural slight wonkiness that comes from hand building because it gives each piece a genuine, human character. Inside, a small coil is added at the base to soften the join. This helps reduce tannin and coffee staining over time and adds a subtle design detail.
The smaller size is ideal for a quick espresso or as a child’s first ceramic mug. This design is also available in a little cup and a larger mug size. Although made to consistent dimensions, each mug will have small variations in shape, texture and glaze due to the handmade process. They are sold individually but can be collected to create a matching set.
