Each mug is built by hand from stoneware clay, shaped with attention to form and everyday use. I keep the natural slight wonkiness that comes from handbuilding because it gives each piece a genuine, human character. Inside, a small coil is added at the base to soften the join. This helps reduce tannin and coffee staining over time and adds a subtle design detail.
The generous size is designed for a decent morning coffee, a daily dose of caffeine, or a large cup of herbal tea, while still feeling light and comfortable in the hand. This design is also available in a little mug and little cup size. Although made to consistent dimensions, each mug will have small variations in shape, texture and glaze due to the handmade process. They are sold individually but can be collected to create a matching set.
